Las Vegas may be known as the Entertainment Capital of the World, but it’s not just for grown-ups. From awe-inspiring aquariums to immersive art, indoor amusement parks, and even cat cafés, there are plenty of ways for families to have fun- and stay cool- this summer.
Whether you're visiting from out of town or a local looking to escape the heat, these indoor attractions offer unforgettable experiences for kids and adults alike.
If you caught our segment on Las Vegas Now (CBS) and are looking for more details, here are some of our top picks from FoodFamilyTravel.com for the best family-friendly indoor activities in Las Vegas this summer.

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay
This indoor aquarium is home to over 2,000 animals, including sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, piranhas, and even a Komodo dragon. The walk-through tunnel gives visitors a 360-degree view of sea life gliding all around.
Local Tip: Nevada residents get $10 admission on Tuesdays through late August- an unbeatable deal for families.
Area 15 & Omega Mart by Meow Wolf

Area 15 is a massive immersive space perfect for kids and teens (and their grown-ups). Omega Mart is a surreal, interactive grocery store that leads into a sci-fi mystery filled with hidden doors and tactile experiences. Plan to spend several hours here (we spent almost 7 hours and could have spent more than one day checking out all the different art installations, exhibits, and fun). There’s also a food court, VR rides, and other indoor experiences within Area 15 (we LOVED Wink World and the view from Liftoff).
Family-Friendly Shows
Las Vegas is home to world-class live entertainment, and several shows are family-friendly:
KA by Cirque du Soleil at MGM Grand features martial arts-inspired acrobatics and jaw-dropping stunts.
Mystère at Treasure Island is a whimsical classic that’s perfect for all ages. It's our daughter's favorite show in Vegas- and every time we go, we see something new.

Cat Cafés
For a slower-paced, animal-centered outing, Las Vegas offers two cat cafés: Hearts Alive Village and Rescued Treasures Cat Café. Families can enjoy indoor playtime with adoptable cats, coffee, and light snacks- a cozy break from the action. The best part: your entrance fee goes towards medical care and vaccinations for these adorable, adoptable kitties. Give love and get love for the afternoon.
Adventuredome at Circus Circus
This 5-acre indoor amusement park features roller coasters, mini golf, laser tag, arcade games, and more- all inside a fully air-conditioned dome. It’s ideal for birthday parties or a full day of indoor fun.
Discovery Children’s Museum
Perfect for ages 2–12, this museum features hands-on exhibits covering science, art, and global cultures. Kids can explore water play zones, pretend-play areas, and STEM-focused experiences- all in a climate-controlled space.
Bonus Indoor Fun for Families
FlyOver Las Vegas: An immersive flight ride experience that’s thrilling but kid-friendly.
Pinball Hall of Fame: A nostalgic arcade with hundreds of vintage pinball machines and games.
Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens: Not just for adults—kids love the vibrant, seasonal indoor displays (plus it’s free and air-conditioned). Just be aware at night- last time we were there it was a different crowd than we used to see at Bellagio. It's still the strip, and some folks may... enjoy Las Vegas a bit too much before they also wander in.
M&M’s World and Hershey’s Chocolate World: Four levels of candy-themed fun, perfect for younger children with a sweet tooth.
Topgolf Las Vegas: Indoor golf bays with cooling misters, games, and a kid-friendly menu.
Las Vegas isn’t just a playground for adults- it’s a city full of indoor adventures for families looking to make summer memories while beating the heat.
