I’m beyond excited to share some incredible news with all of you! Starting next week, our family- Dan, Livia, and I - will be moving full-time onto Regent Seven Seas Explorer, the world’s most luxurious cruise ship, as part of our new FoodFamilyTravel series, Life OVER Seas. This unique partnership between FoodFamilyTravel.com and Regent Seven Seas will allow us to share our real-time insights and adventures while we attempt to find a work/life balance. For the next few months, we’ll be redefining home, work, and school as we explore the world together.
This journey is about so much more than just travel. It’s about embracing a growing trend that’s changing the way people live: full-time cruise ship living. With the rising costs of housing and food, and the freedom that remote work provides, more families, retirees, and digital nomads are making the leap to “port-to-port” living. And we’re diving in headfirst!
From balancing remote work and homeschooling (with some global flair) to managing life with Livia’s type 1 diabetes, we’ll be sharing the ups and downs of life at sea. Along the way, we’ll explore breathtaking destinations across New Zealand, Australia, Bali, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and more- diving into glow-worm caves, cuddling koalas, swimming the Great Barrier Reef, experiencing an ice storm at the International Antarctic Centre, hiking through tropical rainforests, heading into the wild with jumping crocodiles and komodo dragons, and immersing ourselves in different cultures. Every day will bring something new, whether it’s a sunrise yoga session on deck, a behind-the-scenes look at the ship’s galley, or a family karaoke night with new friends.
This isn’t just a trip for us; it’s a new way of life. We’ll be showing you how cruise living can be an exciting, inspiring, and even practical alternative to life on land. We’re thrilled to have our story featured in Travel + Leisure and other major media outlets, and we hope it inspires others to dream big and step outside their comfort zones. I don't know what we'll find out about "life over seas"- but I can't wait to discover it and share it with you.
