There are some resorts that immediately make you feel like you’ve arrived somewhere special. Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa is a place that somehow manages to feel luxurious, relaxed, family-friendly, and deeply personal all at once.

Often called “the Hamptons of Florida” thanks to its adorable boutiques, wine bars, art galleries, spas, and casual elegance, Vero Beach offers a quieter and more sophisticated version of the Florida beach vacation. And from the moment we arrived at the resort, it was clear this wasn’t going to be an ordinary stay.

We were greeted with champagne in the lobby upon our arrival before heading up to our suite (always a good sign), and the moment we opened the door, we were honestly blown away.

Our Two-Bedroom Oceanfront Suite was absolutely stunning. At more than 1,000 square feet, it felt less like a hotel room and more like a private beachfront residence. The suite featured two king bedrooms, a spacious living room with a sleeper sofa, bar area with a microwave and refrigerator, luxury Atelier Bloem bath amenities, and a balcony with stunning views of the Atlantic and the pool area.

When we arrived in our suite, an incredible display featuring Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne, an elaborate charcuterie spread, and beautifully arranged macarons stretched across the entire bar area in the living room waiting for us. It immediately set the tone for the entire experience: thoughtful, elevated, welcoming, and effortlessly luxurious.

For families, the setup is especially ideal. The extra space gave everyone room to relax without ever feeling cramped, and the separate living area made the suite feel incredibly functional for longer stays or multigenerational travel.

The suite’s spacious bathroom also made a huge difference for our family's stay, especially when everyone was getting ready for dinner or heading out to the beach. It felt incredibly spa-like, featuring a separate soaking tub and a stunning glass-enclosed rain shower that instantly elevated the experience. After days in the sun, it became the perfect place to unwind and relax before another evening overlooking the ocean.

Every morning started with coffee on the balcony while listening to the waves roll in. At sunset, the entire sky turned shades of pink and gold over the Atlantic. It was the kind of view you never really stop looking at.

But what truly surprised us was how perfectly the resort balances luxury with genuine family-friendly hospitality.

Livi absolutely loved walking along the beach collecting seashells every day. The shoreline in Vero Beach is filled with beautiful shells in every color and size imaginable, and what started as a quick beach walk turned into hours of exploration and excitement. Some of our favorite moments from the trip were simply slowing down together by the ocean searching for treasures in the sand.

The beach itself is gorgeous - peaceful, uncrowded, and incredibly relaxing compared to many of Florida’s busier coastal destinations.

The resort also goes above and beyond for families in ways that actually matter. From thoughtful children’s amenities to family game areas, complimentary beach items, and even partnerships with 4moms baby gear for parents traveling with infants, everything feels designed to make family travel easier without sacrificing style or comfort.

And then there was the food.

We had several incredible meals throughout our stay between Cobalt and Heaton’s Vero Beach - two very different dining experiences that perfectly complement each other.

Cobalt delivers a more refined, upscale oceanfront dining experience with beautifully prepared seafood, elegant presentations, and a sophisticated atmosphere that still feels relaxed enough for families. The restaurant sits directly overlooking the ocean, creating one of the most scenic dining settings in Vero Beach. We’ll actually be sharing a full dedicated review of Cobalt soon because it deserves its own spotlight.

Meanwhile, Heaton’s has a livelier, more casual beachside energy that makes it perfect for everything from brunch to sunset cocktails and relaxed family dinners after a day in the sun. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for hours listening to live music while watching the ocean just steps away.

Between the two restaurants, we genuinely looked forward to every meal.

The resort’s spa experience also deserves mention. The Orchid Spa offers a serene coastal atmosphere that feels completely in tune with the slower pace of Vero Beach itself. It’s another reminder that this property understands what luxury travelers are really looking for right now: experiences that feel restorative rather than overwhelming.

What makes Kimpton Vero Beach stand out most, though, is the feeling it creates. There’s an ease to everything here. Luxury without pretension. Family travel without stress. Beautiful design without sacrificing comfort.

It’s the kind of destination where parents can sip champagne overlooking the ocean then walk with kids as they hunt for seashells on the beach just steps away.

And, that combination is harder to find than people realize.

The hotel’s growing national recognition reflects exactly that. Forbes recently ranked Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa among the best family resorts in Florida - and after experiencing the property firsthand, it’s easy to understand why.

For families looking for a Florida beach escape that feels polished, peaceful, and genuinely memorable, Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel and Spa is one of the best luxury coastal getaways in the state.

And after spending time there ourselves, it’s easy to understand why guests return again and again.

We were invited to stay at Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel and Spa and share our experience. All thoughts and opinions are our own.
